Surprise!

So I get up this morning and go to let the dogs out to go potty. As I open the door I see one of our cows, Sophie, looking up and bellowing and none of the chickens are out wandering around the coup. Hmm? Then I look up...

A gorgeous, huge bald eagle is sitting in the trees just above the chicken coup and the cow is giving me a warning to watch the dogs. How sweet! I watched the eagle and the dogs while they were going potty. If I felt that the eagle was thinking of swooping down to get one of my little ones, I would have started screaming like a banshee to scare it off. Of course, it just sat there but you can never be to sure! Dogs safe for now!!!
Then I go in to check my e-mails and look out the window and here is another immature bald eagle sitting on our fence post out by our driveway. I don't think I have ever been so in awe.
I grabbed the camera and took a couple of pictures. It has been really dark and foggy here this morning so the pictures are not great, but you get the idea of how close they were. Look at how far down the wings are compared to the body. Absolutely amazing!!! I sat on my front porch taking pictures and just held my breath. In my opinion, I got an awesome surprise this morning. It has made the thought of me doing laundry and cleanup all day not so bad.
